The court has ruled that New Jeans must pay every time they engage in independent activities.

According to the legal community on the 30th, presiding Judge Heo Kyung-moo of the 52nd Civil Agreement Division of the Seoul Central District Court made the decision in the previous day to accept the indirect compulsion application filed by ADOR against New Jeans. Indirect compulsion is an order to pay a certain amount of compensation according to the delay in compliance with the court decision.

Judge Kyung-moo stated, "Until the first trial verdict on the exclusive contract validity confirmation lawsuit is announced, you must not engage in entertainment activities without ADOR's prior approval or consent. This is an order to pay 1 billion won per violation if you violate this."

Presiding Judge Kim Sang-hoon of the 50th Civil Agreement Division of the Seoul Central District Court accepted ADOR's application for an injunction against New Jeans on March 21st. On the 30th, Judge Kyung-moo ruled that New Jeans cannot engage in independent activities including signing of advertising contracts, etc., to "preserve the status of the agency."

  1. [+857, -43] A great decision!
  2. [+405, -19] Min Hee-jin really ruined these kids.. were they gaslighted??
  3. [+229, -3] This is a country governed by law so it's only right that they follow the laws! Stop filing appeals with your emotions!
  4. [+122, -7] It's game over.. totally
  5. [+111, -4] They really thought they were all that because they got a bit popular.. you're pretty kids but you sang well because you had the best composers, best choreographers, and received the best CFs since you were in a big agency.. you only got popular because of that and only that!
  6. [+106, -1] Ah, Min Hee-jin really ruined everything in New Jeans.. when things didn't go her way she brought those kids down with her, ignored the law, and even played politics and completely ruined them.. she's truly the worst of them all.
  7. [+55, -3] They put popularity above the law! When they started acting out like that the adults should've reeled them in place. Their parents really failed at their roles.. take this as a lesson and atone for it with music in your next life.. it's time to retire now
  8. [+54, -0] Min Hee-jin was deeply immersed in the victim cosplay herself.. I mean who gets to do whatever they want in this society?! She was eating from HYBE 's hands after all with the big salary she was making as president and CEO. She wronged the company with her actions. She should've accepted it and moved on, joined another agency or started their own. She should've left those kids alone!
  9. [+51, -1] In the BBC interview, their criticism of Korean entertainment as a whole was even more severe.. why are they criticizing the industry when they're the ones that didn't keep their contracts??
  10. [+35, -1] Aigoo.. were they gaslighted by Min Hee-jin to the point that they couldn't tell poop from doenjang [soybean paste]?! Is a contract a joke? Why didn't you just do your jobs?? Why get involved in Min Hee-jin's fight and end your idol career that you had worked so hard for and wanted badly? tsk tsk
  11. [+34, -4] The best ruling ever in recent times
  12. [+24, -1] This is the reality.. you either spit out the money invested in you or get taught the true cost of swindling coffers from a huge agency.. they should've just paid the penalty, a bunch of traitors!
  13. [+24, -2] A promising girl group down the drain because of Min Hee-jin's selfishness..

What do you think of this development? Are Koreans right? Is New Jeans idol career over?
