The 2025 MAMA Awards will proceed as scheduled.

According to an exclusive report by My Daily on the 27th, the 2025 MAMA Awards, after repeated local meetings due to the large-scale fire that has recently broken out in Hong Kong, have decided to proceed with the ceremony, not cancel it. However, they are maintaining a more toned-down tone and a more solemn atmosphere. Furthermore, several artists have already departed for Hong Kong that day.

The MAMA Awards office notified the cast, "We are quickly discussing appropriate response measures for each category. We will closely review the situation and promptly share information regarding official response and event operation procedures related to the awards ceremony, as well as matters related to the artist stages and award scripts."

"We once again apologize for causing concern to all artists and related parties. The office will carefully review the situation and determine the best course of action."

At approximately 2:00 PM on 26th (local time), a large fire broke out in a high-rise residential apartment complex in the Tai Po district of northern Hong Kong. The fire killed at least 36 people and left 279 missing. The death toll is likely to rise, as some residents were unable to escape, particularly in a high-rise apartment complex.

The apartment complex where the fire broke out is approximately 21 kilometers from the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, where the 2025 MAMA Awards will be held, and it takes about 20 minutes by car to reach the stadium. Hong Kong natives Chow Yun-fat and Michelle Yeoh are scheduled to attend the ceremony as award presenters. The Hong Kong government raised the fire alert to Level 5, the highest level, today, marking the first time this has happened since the Mong Kok nightclub fire in 2008.
