Ahead of Channel A's 'Heart Signal 5' regular broadcast, SPOTV News reported that the female contestant who was recently embroiled in affair allegations was not completely edited out.
Episode 9 of 'Heart Signal 5' aired on the 9th at 10 PM (KST). This was the first episode to air since allegations surrounding a female contestant surfaced. Prior to the broadcast, the production team released an official statement, saying:
"We are currently verifying the facts regarding allegations involving a certain contestant. We take this matter very seriously. Regardless of whether the allegations are true, we are carefully reviewing the direction of this contestant's appearances on the show."
However, the contestant in question still appeared in the episode. Although her screen time was limited because she returned home late, she had been one of the key figures featured heavily in previous episodes, suggesting that the production team is facing a difficult decision.
Recently, allegations claiming that one of the female contestant on a dating show is a defendant in a lawsuit seeking damages for an extramarital affair spread across online communities. The author claimed:
"That contestant is a homewrecker who ruined a family and also the defendant in a marital infedility lawsuit. From the time she applied for the show up until the filming period, she was actually in a relationship but pretended to be single."
The author continued, "This was a clear act of deception toward viewers, fellow cast members, and the production staff. While filming the cohabitation part of the show, she would spend early mornings at the married man's residence and then return to the filming set to continue shooting."
Following the controversy, the production team stated that they were 'currently verifying the facts,' and later released their official statement in the afternoon on the day of the broadcast.
'Heart Signal' is one of South Korea's original and most popular dating reality show that has received significant love over the years. However, Season 5 has struggled with low ratings in the 0% range and relatively low buzz.
