BTS Suga who's currently serving as a social service worker is being investigated by police on charges of riding an electric kickboard (scooter) while drunk.

According to Yonhap News on the 7th, the Yongsan Police Department in Seoul is investigating Suga after filing a case against him on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). According to police, Suga was found the day before, alone in Yongsan-gu, passed out on an electric kickboard. The police officer that approached him to help him stated that he "smelled of alcohol" so he took him to a nearby police station.

Electric kickboards are classified as motor-driven bicycles under the Road Traffic Act and are subject to the same punishment as drunk driving in a vehicle.

Suga entered the Nonsan Training Center in South Chungcheong Province in March to receive basic military training and is currently serving as a social worker. His discharge date is June 2025.

Suga is the only BTS member assigned to "social service." The reason for this is unknown but believed to be due to surgery he received in November 2020 to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

  1. [+1,201, -29] He should've been more careful especially because he's doing alternative service.. tsk tsk.. if you have money to drink, take a taxi home! It only takes a moment for your entire career to fall apart!
  2. [+576, -14] Just ban all electric kickboards from the streets!
  3. [+442, -51] What?? While doing social service??!
  4. [+195, -7] Drunk driving.. daebak
  5. [+136, -12] Is it that expensive to call a taxi or proxy driver after drinking??! Ugh..
  6. [+117, -5] If Suga is kicked from BTS does that mean BTS goes to zero? ha ha
  7. [+68, -27] While the rest of us are forced to enlist in active service and are enduring it, healthy idols like him are being given social service to spend it drinking and driving on scooters.. this is why we're being taken for fools.
  8. [+60, -2] Electric kickboards themselves should be banned from the streets! I just want to kick people that I see using them on sidewalks and throw them out.
  9. [+58, -1] His personal wealth is in the tens of billions but he's driving drunk.. aigoo
  10. [+53, -2] This aside, let's do something about kids riding these things on the streets in pairs without a license or helmets!!
  11. [+52, -2] I really hate seeing celebrities doing illegal things like this but I honestly fell out in laughter when I saw title.. An elderly man was killed by a scooter while taking a walk a few weeks ago so this is really dangerous behavior. Idols, celebrities and kids riding these things seriously need to reflect!
  12. [+40, -9] He's tarnishing the BTS name! He's the only one doing public service too, ugh
  13. [+36, 8] Looks like he has no common sense
  14. [+28, -5] Goodbye, he won't be going far..
